RESOLVED

That the application for consent to permit a camouflaged freestanding base telecommunication station on Erf 4640, Durbanville, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98 (c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.

REASONS FOR DECISION:

1. The application does not comply with objective two (2) in the Telecommunication Mast Infrastructure Policy because of its prominent location on the crest of a rise and therefore its negative visual impact.
2. There is no indication that alternatives such as the use of existing municipal infrastructures have been considered.
3. The applicant has not given a motivation in argument for this specific location nor is there consideration of alternative location.
4. Insufficient attention is given as to how this proposal would be integrated into the existing landscape as per the Telecommunication Mast Infrastructure Policy
