RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY:
a. That the application for consent use to permit a freestanding cellular communication base station comprising of inter alia 2 x 15m lamp pole masts on Erf 448, Gordons Bay, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.
b. That the application for permanent departure to permit the proposed cellular communication base station and towers to be setback 0m in lieu of 4.5m from Faure Marine Drive, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.
REASONS FOR DECISION:
The MPT refused the application for the following reason:
The two cell masts together with the equipment in such a prominent location against the back drop of the mountain will have a significant negative visual impact.
