UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED:
That the application for a temporary land use departure in order to permit a liquor shop from a portion of Erf 9148, 6 Agate Road, Fairdale, Blue Downs, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c)(iii) of the City of Cape Town, Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015.
REASONS FOR DECISION:
1. The scale of the activity is inappropriate for this specific location.
2. This is a cul-de-sac with no direct vehicular access to any major road.
3. Large delivery vehicles will have difficulty negotiating in this cul-de-sac.
4. Pedestrian access across Hindle Road is considered to be dangerous.
5. The proposal to change the access to Agate Road does not minimize the impact of the facility.
