UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that:

The application for Council’s approval, in terms of Item 162(1) of the Development Management Scheme, to permit the erection of a boundary wall within the Heritage Protection Overlay Zone for Erf 168243 Cape Town at Wynberg, as per plans drawn by Rennie Scurr Adendorff Architects with drawing number C-1003 REV D, dated 2017-02-23, BE APPROVED in terms of Section 98(b) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015.


REASONS FOR DECISION

1. The proposal will not impact on existing rights.
2. The street elevation looks attractive and is well articulated, and the proposal will not negatively affect the streetscape.
3. This application will not result in a change to the character of the area nor will it impact negatively on the neighbours or the streetscape as the building work has been designed to appropriately fit in with the area.
4. The proposal will not have a negative heritage impact. The design of the building work has been amended to fit in appropriately to the existing urban fabric as requested by Heritage Resource Management.
