UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that:
The application for consent to permit a monopole freestanding base telecommunication station on Remainder Erf 2694 Grassy Park, 18 Henley Road, Lotus River, BE APPROVED, in terms of Section 98 of the Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015, subject to conditions as set out in Annexure A of the report.
REASONS FOR DECISION:
1. The mast is to be located close to an existing activity corridor.
2. The proposed 18m monopole mast is unlikely to have a significant and unacceptable negative visual impact on the area, with the imposition of conditions
3. The application conforms to the policy objectives of the Telecommunication Mast Infrastructure Policy (2015).
4. The approval of this application does not impact on any rights and does not lack desirability, and thus complies with the criteria for desirability criteria of the City of Cape Town Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015.
Conditions to be amended as follows:
2.3 The mast must be designed in an appropriate manner to mitigate its visual impact to the satisfaction of the commissioner TDA
Annexure A:
3.3 Delete ‘ED: EESP’ and and replace with ‘Commissioner: TDA’.
