Current and upcoming valuations<h2 class="sectHeading">Current objections</h2><p> <strong>There are currently no legislated objection periods underway.</strong></p><h4>Useful links:<br></h4><ul><li> <a href="" target="_blank" id="gv2022-2" class="gv2022-2">View GV2022</a><br></li><li> <a href="" target="_blank">How to view your property valuation on GV2022</a><br></li><li> <a href="">Find out more about supplementary valuations</a><br></li></ul><div class="responsive-media"> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" id="GV-video-2" class="GV-video-2"></iframe>  <br></div> <span> <div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info note">​​​</i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>PROTECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION ACT (POPIA)</h4><p>The City respects your privacy rights and therefore aims to ensure that we comply with the legal requirements of the POPI Act.<br></p></div></div></span> <h2 class="sectHeading">Current valuations</h2><h4>Supplementary Valuation Roll to GV2022 (SV01/GV2022) </h4><p>Properties which have undergone changes, have been included on the GV2022 Revaluation Register, or have been omitted from the GV2022 Roll are currently being valued in the SV01/GV2022. </p><h2 class="sectHeading">Current disputes</h2><p>Notices will be posted to properties included in the SV01/GV2022 roll to advise about the new valuation and about the process to dispute the valuation. </p><p> If you disagree with the valuation as indicated on the notice, you will need to email <a href=""><em></em></a> to request the official review form. The completed form must be returned to the same email address. </p><h2 class="sectHeading">Upcoming objections<br></h2><p>At the end of July 2024, owners of properties valued in SV01/GV2022 will also be given an opportunity to submit an objection against the SV01/GV2022 value. </p><p> A notice will be posted to every property valued in the SV01/GV2022 in July 2024 to advise of the objection period as well as the process for submitting the objection form.</p> <span> <div class="notification with-heading dark-copy pink bg-light-grey"><div class="graphic with-border"> <i class="info note">​​​</i> </div><div class="desc"><h4>SV01/GV2022 DISPUTES</h4><p> Only selected properties are being valued on the SV01/GV2022 Roll. <br> <br>If your property was valued on SV01/GV2022, you have a right to submit a REVIEW immediately, before the expiry date indicated on your notice. <br> <br>You will be able to submit an OBJECTION in July 2024 if you disagree with your valuation on the SV01/GV2022 roll. <br></p></div></div></span> <p> <strong></strong> </p><h2 class="sectHeading">Past objections<br></h2><h4>The following rolls for the GV2018 cycle have already been completed:</h4><ul><li>GV2018 Roll</li><li>SV01/GV2018</li><li>SV02/GV2018<br></li><li>SV03/GV2018 <br></li><li>SV04/GV2018<br></li><li>SV05/GV2018<br></li></ul><p> <strong>The objection periods for these rolls are closed.</strong></p><ul><li> <a href="" target="_blank" id="gv2018-1">View the GV2018 Roll online</a><br></li></ul><p>If you objected against your property value on any of the rolls mentioned above, you will receive a decision from the City as soon as your objection is resolved. Until then, you are urged to continue paying the rates for the property as indicated on your municipal account. Once resolved, your objection decision will be backdated to the effective date indicated on your original valuation notice, and the municipal account will be updated and recalculated in line with the objection decision.<br></p><h2 class="sectHeading" style="color:#424242;">Status of objections</h2><p>Our valuers are working exclusively to resolve the objections received against the GV2022 roll, and aim to finalise these by December 2023.
