Resolution detail
23SUB5/2/2019: Sean Newman reported there is only two problem buildings reported for SC23 in New Woodlands and Lentegeur which is being investigated. The last discussion was that there are potential buyers for the one property who purchased the property. The other property only had a broken door handle and window which need to be replaced and the department do not deal with that.
Cllr Woodman responded that she is still awaiting feedback on the property in Colorado. She reported there is people currently in the property and the owner cannot be found.
Sean Newman responded the property was secured but requires cleaning. The department will follow up with the people who took ownership of the property. He reports the owner is deceased and the widow was taken to a place of safety.
Cllr Jansen disputes the fact that the official states there is only 2 problem buildings for SC23. Cllr Jansen states he reported a house in Ward 43, Punt Road Philippi. He requests an update on the matter as the department has conducted an investigation.
Sean Newman responded the property is listed with the department. The last correspondence was that an eviction order has been issued in order to demolish the property. The department is monitoring the case but is awaiting the completion of the process before the people can be evicted.
Cllr Jansen request a list of all problem buildings within SC23 for Ward 33, Ward 43, Ward 75 and Ward 76.
Mr Martin recommends the Ward Cllr forward a list of properties perceived as problem buildings within their respective wards in order for the line department to confirm if these buildings are listed.
