LIQUOR LICENCE APPLICATION: DECISION TAKEN UNDER SUBDELEGATED AUTHORITY BY THE SUBCOUNCIL MANAGER, THE WARD COUNCILLOR AND THE CHAIRPERSON IN RESPECT OF: REF NO. LLA24070025, KOMMETJIE PIZZERIA, ERF: 3048, 3 ERICA KOMMETJIE, KOMMETJIE
 
It be NOTED that an application for a liquor licence received from Kommetjie Pizzeria was considered in terms of sub delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:
 
Subcouncil 19 RECOMMENDED that the application for a Consumption ON Premises Liquor Licence, reference no. LLA24070025, for the business Kommetjie Pizzeria at 3 ERICA KOMMETJIE NOT BE SUPPORTED for the following reasons:
 
Reasons for not supporting were as follows:
 

1. It is not in the greater public interest. The premises are in a quiet commercial node surrounded by residential properties.
2. Only 70 meters from a substance abuse institution.
3. Complaints were received from residents due to noise from the nearby licensed premises on erf 5088.
4. There is no approved business licence and Municipal Plans.
5. However, if a licence is granted, it should be limited to being serving with food, no amplified music should be allowed and it should close no later than 10pm and subject to the municipal plans being approved and a business licence being obtained.
