RESOLVED that it BE NOTED that an application for a liquor licence received from ANTRIM HOUSE BY ANTRIM COLLECTION was considered in terms of sub delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:
Subcouncil 16 recommends that the application for a Consumption ON Premises Liquor Licence, reference no. LLA24060018, for the business ANTRIM HOUSE BY ANTRIM COLLECTION at 23 ANTRIM, THREE ANCHOR BAY BE SUPPORTED WITH CONDITIONS;
Mini bars in rooms - Support:

Restaurant, lounge and communal Dining room (Inside):
o Support inside liquor consumption as per usual municipal hours;

Outside decks, room balconies, verandas and Swimming/splash pool (All areas outside) - Support sales of liquor until 10pm only.

That the consumption of alcohol is limited to hotel guests and their visitors, restaurant clients coming for dinner as well as other individual guests coming to enjoy the setting. In other words, the stipulation is made that no “External Party/Birthday/21st Group bookings” type of events are taken – limiting the noise and parking impact.

The use of alcohol is for the enjoyment of those guests and visitors using the space - without it turning into an “Event Venue” which is the main concern among residents.

Establishment of Trading hours as per the City of Cape Control of undertakings that sell liquor to the public by-law, 2013 promulgated 17 January 2014 PG7219; LA56199 in terms of either category 1 or 2
