Mr Wiseman reported that the following; The City’s aim is to ensure that the WANR is utilised sustainably and in accordance with its status as a Protected Area, whilst facilitating an appropriate visitor experience and equitable access to the nature reserve for service providers, tourists and other visitors; Currently WANR is being over utilised by unauthorised quad bikers. There is close to 20 000 vehicles that is using the Reserve and 16 000 are quadbikes.

The City aims to add a gate limit of 250 quad bikes a day and have one day a week where there are no vehicles allowed. This is so that the rangers can repair and or clean the reserve where possible.

The PPP opens for comment from 2 September 2024 to 2 October 2024.
