It NOTED that an application for a liquor licence received from Kommetjie Liquors was considered in terms of sub delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:
Subcouncil 19 recommended that the application for a Consumption OFF Premises Liquor Licence, reference no. LLA24070006, for the business Kommetjie Liquors at 3 ERICA KOMMETJIE ROAD, KOMMETJIE NOT BE SUPPORTED for the following reasons:

It is not in the public interest to have a liquor shop at this location as:

Although the premises are in a quiet commercial centre, it is surrounded by residential properties on all sides.

Within 70 metres of this premises there is a substance abuse clinic.

However, should the licence be approved then the hours should be limited to 18:00 Monday to Saturday with no option of extra hours for Sundays.
