It is recommended that it be NOTED that an application for the renewal of extended liquor trading hours (on-consumption) in respect of Sugarrays, situated at 102 Voortrekker Road, Parow for trading Monday to Sundays 02:00 - 04:00 was considered under sub delegated authority by the Subcouncil Manager, in consultation with the Chairperson/Ward Councillor of Subcouncil 4 and that the following decision was taken on 17 May 2024:

That the application for the renewal of extended trading hours (on-consumption) submitted by Sugarrays, situated at 102 Voortrekker Road, Parow trading Monday to Sundays 02:00 – 04:00 NOT BE APPROVED for the following reasons:

A fire protection plan to be submitted to Local Authority for approval.
The licenced premises is in close proximity to a residential zoned area, cultural, religious and educational facilities.
The potential impact on the surrounding environment such as anti-social behavior.
The approval of the extension trading hours from 02:00 to 04:00 is not in the general interest of the public.
