RESOLVED that it be NOTED that an application for a liquor licence received from SIMELIA WINES was considered in terms of sub delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:
Subcouncil 16 recommends that the application for a Micro Manufacturer OFF Consumption Liquor Licence, reference no. LLA24010021, for the business SIMELIA WINES at 3 Brownlow Tamboerskloof SHOULD NOT BE SUPPORTED.
The Subcouncil does not support the application for the following reasons:
1. The Property is in a block of flats in a residential area.
2. Needs proof that all of the trustees on the Body Corporate support the application.
3. Needs confirmation that business is compliant with land use/zoning of the property.
4. With online sale of alcohol, can owner ensure compliance of legislation e.g. restriction of sale of alcohol to minors.
5. If alcohol distribution is from property in Drakenstein then the liquor licence application should be for those properties.
