RESOLVED that it be NOTED that an application for a liquor licence received from DIE DORP HOTEL was considered in terms of sub delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:
Subcouncil 16 recommends that the application for a Consumption ON Premises Liquor Licence, reference no. LLA23120006, for the business DIE DORP HOTEL at 273 Longmarket Bo-Kaap BE NOT SUPPORTED.
Subcouncil does not support the application for the following reasons:
1. Application not in the public interest as the venue is located in a predominantly Muslim Community who objects to the sale of alcohol.
2. Approved gas plans and emergency lighting
3. SANS 10139 break glass and siren required
4. Signage required.
