Resolution detail

The Subcouncil Manager introduced the report on and said that the report is for noting. He invited councillors to raise questions of clarity.

Cllr Moses said that he understands the Systems Act and the concern is that the Act do not allow the city not to advertise. It will be a problem to get the community to comment on property items that are advertised in the newspapers. How will the public get the information when things will not be advertised in the newspapers?

He said that this method will rid of the physical advertising way and the act is clear that the municipality must advertise. He mentioned that this issue needs to be addressed at a higher level or get the author of the report to come and do explanation.

Cllr Nikelo said that the Subcouncil Facebook page will be another channel for getting information to the public and requested the EPA to start with creating the Subcouncil web page. He also said that the Subcouncil will note the report and further engagements will be done with the author of the report.

There was unanimous agreement with the resolution.
