RESOLVED that it be NOTED that an application for a liquor licence received from RARE GALLERY was considered in terms of sub-delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:

Subcouncil 16 recommends that the application for a Consumption ON Premises Liquor Licence, reference no. LLA23090014, for the business RARE GALLERY, NOT BE SUPPORTED

The Subcouncil does support the application for the following reasons:

Applicant to arrange with Fire Department for re-inspection to be done with approved municipal building plans.
Various objections received from the community.
Premises is very close to a residential block.
Granting a liquor licence to this establishment is not in public interest.
