Resolution detail

RESOLVED that having considered the City of Cape Town Traffic Calming Policy and the recommendation from Transport Planning & Network Management Department;
 
a)    Hof Street is a Class 5 Local Street located within a medium density residential area of Gardens.
 
b)    Our assessment indicated that CPOA Berghof Retirement Village is located between Hof Street between Buxton Avenue and Lingen Street which may attract vulnerable pedestrian activity across the study roadway.
 
c)     There is an existing traffic calming measure along Hof Street between Buxton Avenue and Lingen Street in the vicinity of CPOA Berghof Retirement Village to sufficiently mitigate vehicle-pedestrian conflict.

d) Therefore, the potential for pedestrian/vehicle conflict along Hof Street between Buxton Avenue and Lingen Street is considered low and non-compliant with Section 7(3) of the Traffic Calming Policy.

e) Given the above and considering the City of Cape Town Traffic Policy, regretfully traffic calming measures cannot currently be considered along the length of Hof Street between Buxton Avenue and Lingen Street.
