2024/25 BUDGET CONSULTATION WITH SUBCOUNCILS
Mr. Daniels introduced the report and gave an opportunity to Zandile Mahlasela to give a detailed feedback.
Ms. Mahlasela explained that the report recommends the Subcouncil to submit comments and input to line departments, for consideration when compiling 2024/25 draft budget. The closing date for the submission of comments is 13 October 2023.
The meeting recommended the Subcouncil to convene a special budget ward committee meeting to accommodate this item: Members should be encouraged to submit priority community needs with clear inputs consisting the name of the project and address such as Installation of street lights at Thames Walk in Manenberg. The inputs should be collated into a single document. Chairperson requested for the invitation to be extended to SC14 Community Organisations.
The Subcouncil Chairperson said that inviting relevant community leaders results in meaningful Budget meetings.
Cllr Nikelo proposed for the adoption of the resolution seconded by Cllr Moses.
There was unanimous agreement with the resolution.
