The Subcouncil Chairperson gave an opportunity to Cllrs to provide feedback on projects. Ward 30 Ald Jacobs referred to page 120 and mentioned that there is movement on the Manenberg Library Books and Materials. Traffic Calming - She wanted to know where they are going to do the Traffic Calming because she has already identified an area. Manenberg PTI - They had two (2) successful meetings with the Officials and the Taxi Association. They are currently waiting for another Public Participation Process with the nearest Community and Sherwood Park Community. Manenberg CRU Electrical upgrades- She requested a meeting with the Official to identify which Courts are they going to do. Manenberg General Infrastructure Project- She requested for a meeting with Manfred Hartzenberg to identify which Courts have been identified for fencing. For other Projects such as Women for Change she had engagements with the Officials and they are setting up the programmes. She was happy with the progress of projects in her Ward. Ward 40 Cllr Ngcombolo indicated that there are no Capital Expenditure Projects in Ward 40. They have started engaging with different Line Departments for the current Financial Year. On Thursday he is going to meet with the Ward Committee Members to present timelines for Projects and later engage with Area Committee Members. Ward 44 Cllr Moses indicated that he had meetings with different officials. He will have a discussion with Mdumiseni Kahla and thereafter conduct Site Visits. Ward 46 Traffic Calming- Ward 46- Cllr Cassiem wanted to find out which roads have been identified for Traffic Calming. LPR Cameras- Ward 46- He requested a meeting with Barry Schuller regarding the allocation of R150 000. Ward 49 Install: Balustrades, Athlone Stadium- Cllr Adams wanted to find out where Page 14 of 15 and when the Balustrades will be installed. He requested an update from Arnold Pretorius. Anton Le Roux reported that Athlone Waste Water Treatment plant is progressing accordingly. Last Financial Year they achieved 100% expenditure and was hoping to achieve the same this year. Cllr Adams was happy with the feedback and reminded Mr. Le Roux about the fence with the abutting properties. He requested for Sheraan Mohamed to be present in all the Subcouncil Meetings to provide an update of the bridge. The residents of the area required an update. Sheraan Mohamed reported that there has been an appeal on this project but has now been resolved. They are ready to start with the construction of the Pedestrian Bridge. However, the Environmental Authorization that they have does not allow them to work between June and September. The project is expected to commence by the end of September and be completed by February 2024. Cllr Adams appreciated the feedback and further requested Mr. Mohamed to send an update with the exact dates. Athlone and Bridgetown Library- the Department always keeps them updated about the funding. Cllr Adams reported that on 01 August 2023 they conducted Site Visits to Three (3) Parks with Mdumiseni Kahla who wrote recommendations on what should be done in the Parks. They have agreed to present the recommendations to the surrounding Community. ECD Equipment- R40 000 was allocated to this Project. He has an appointment with the Official to discuss this item. Park Attendants- Mr. Cedras reported that they have started with the process, they will commence with recruitment early. He will send an update to the Cllr through an email. Cllr Adams reported that the Swimming Pool has been closed for some time. An official that should be invited for this project is Byron Kemp. Leaners Licence Training- The Subcouncil Manager reported that this programme will be done by MURP. Cllr Adams requested Manfred Hartzenberg to provide an update. Arts and Culture- he requested feedback from Robin Jutzen. The Subcouncil Chairperson further requested for the Cllrs to share details of the Project Managers for their projects with the Subcouncil Office to ensure that they are invited to future meetings
