RESOLVED that having considered the City of Cape Town Traffic Calming Policy and the recommendation from Transport Planning & Network Management Department;

Kensington Crescent is considered non - compliant with the Traffic Calming Policy Directives Section 7(3) and Section 7(2). Due to them following:

General pedestrian activity is considered low,

Vehicle speeds were observed to be acceptable with no potential for excessive speed along Kensington Crescent even during peak hours.

No public amenities were found along the road in question that can attract large volumes of pedestrians or vehicles.

The accident statistics transform to an annual average of 0.01% accidents a year, a very low percentage to be considered.

Therefore, we do not believe that circumstances exist to justify the implementation of traffic calming measures.
