RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND |
(a)That the lease of a portion of City land, being a portion or erf 3735 Durbanville, 26B Odendaal Way, Aurora to Richard Rewards Leasing (Pty) Ltd, NOT BE SUPPORTED, for the reasons as reflected in the discussion content and an alternative site be identified.
(b) That, in order to prevent the non-support of these applications in future, the Director: Property Management BE REQUESTED to provide guidance to applicants requesting to lease Public Open Spaces (Parks) for telecommunication infrastructure purposes prior to commencing with the public participation process, by indicating that Subcouncil 7 is not in favour of the installation of telecommunication infrastructure on parks which are intended for recreational purposes and play equipment for children.
(c) That the Director: Parks and Recreation, also BE ALERTED to the fact that Subcouncil 7 is not in support of telecommunications infrastructure being erected on public open spaces due to the fact that these are recreational spaces intended for the use of the community and that this should be borne in mind when commenting on these applications during the public participation process.
