The Subcouncil Chairperson introduced this item and further gave an opportunity to official from Finance to comment. He also gave an opportunity to Cllrs to reflect on projects in their wards. Miss. Mlandu indicated that her role is take note of all the comments raised for referral to the relevant department.
Ward 30
Ald Jacobs referred to page 163 and enquired if there is any progress on the road upgrade at Vygieskraal Road. She identified the need for a follow up with Hilton Scholtz. The Subcouncil Chairperson advised Ald Jacobs to include him in meetings with the official so he can follow up when there is no progress. She referred to page 167 and confirmed that she received a list of CCTV cameras from Mr. Daniels. The list show where the cameras are going to be installed. Ald Jacobs requested for feedback on the upgrade of the canal highlighting that we cannot have the same report every month.
Ward 40
Cllr Ngcombolo indicated that they do not have capital projects. He mentioned that he was happy with operating projects. However, there has been a discussion of driver’s license and capacity building to be transferred in the adjustment budget. He mentioned that the GIA will be successful because more organisation from his ward have registered on the database. Sport Carnival- they are in contact with the official. NHW Equipment- they have spent the money. The Subcouncil Manager indicated he was happy with ward 40 budget. It will be affected by the adjustment budget because they are moving some of the funds.
Ward 44
Cllr Moses reported that there is 1 Million allocated for 1 project in his ward. He has met with the relevant official with one ward committe
e member to provide feedback. They discovered that they will not have enough money for furniture after they are done with the multipurpose court. He asked the official for alternative ways of doing the court and has received positive results. He promised to send the email with the latest developments to the Subcouncil Manager.
Ward 46
Cllr Cassiem reported that he has met with the official for park upgrade. Traffic Calming- He highlighted that it is very frustrating that roads services are very poor in their areas. Traffic calming measures are not implement, this need to be addressed, as it will have more negative impact to the communities in future. At some point, the MAYCO member should be informed of these challenges. Sport Carnival- He wanted to find out about the commitment of R47 000 from Faeeza. There are going to be events taking place in October. Drivers Licence- he met with the official for drivers licence and mentioned, drivers licence participants should be the ones who passed the leaners licence.
Capacity Building- this funding will be used for food gardening programmes, which will be, implemented at the hotspot areas of illegal dumping. Pooke Se Bos Housing Development- he reported that he was pleased with the progress of this project.
Ward 49
Cllr Adams requested for a follow up on the issue of public open spaces within the communities with the potential of being transformed to Food Gardens. Vygieskraal River Pedestrian Bridge- he was happy that there is progress on this project but requested it be monitored closely. Park Attendants for ward 49- he mentioned that he was aware that the randomization and interview process has been completed. He requested Mr. Cedras to send him a list of employed candidates with a breakdown of the parks they are allocated to. Mr. Cedras promised to send the required information by the 20th of September 2022. Ald Jacobs proposed noting of the report seconded by Cllr Adams. There was unanimous agreement with the resolution.
