Resolution detail
Resolved unanimously by Subcouncil 2 that the motion by Ald G Twigg BE CARRIED that the following actions be undertaken by the Water and Sanitation Department:

Immediate action plan be drafted for the replacement of aged Infrastructure in Ward 7.

A bulk water maintenance programme be compiled Citywide to ensure that distribution pipelines, water treatment works and reservoirs are either refurbished or replaced when required.

Sufficient Budget allocation be made for the solutions and the execution thereof either through existing resources, the adjustments budget or considering the Emergency Maintenance Legislative Framework be considered in terms of S29(1) of the Municipal Finance Management Act and S336 of the SCM Policy.

Feedback and progress is to be presented to every Subcouncil 2 meeting as part of the MRA feedback until such time that a concrete implementation plan is tabled in report form at Subcouncil and after which it should form part of the agenda in the form of a regular report to Subcouncil.
