            Resolution detail
            
                It is recommended:
 
	- 
		that the information provided by the Road Infrastructure Management Branch pertaining to the availability of staff to conduct effective road maintenance and to properly manage maintenance contracts BE NOTED;
	- 
		that the measures proposed by the Road Infrastructure Management Branch to enhance effective and efficient road maintenance BE NOTED, namely:
(i) that in light of the fact that the  Upgrading/maintenance of all roads within the boundaries of the City of Cape Town is currently rates funded, ADDITIONAL FUNDING SOURCES ON BOTH THE CAPITAL AND OPERATING BUDGETS OF THE DIRECTORATE: TRANSPORT BE CONSIDERED to begin to address the significant backlogs and deferred maintenance of the City’s roads related infrastructure;
 
(ii) that the staffing constraints persisting in the various Maintenance Depots and District Offices BE REASSESSED AND ADDRESSED as a matter of urgency.
