RESOLVED |
Subcouncil 24 supports the recommendation that:
It is RECOMMENDED that the motion submitted by Ald Stuart Pringle BE SUPPORTED and that the Subcouncil request a report from the City of Cape Town regarding progress dealing with the repairs to the footbridge over the Sir Lowry’s Pass at the end of Brinkhuis Street, Sir Lowry’s Pass Village and indicate whether or not this work will be completed before the rainy season, and if not, what contingency measures are in place to assist residents to safely cross the river.
Mover: Ald Stuart Pringle and seconded by Cllr Siqhamo Batala with no objections to the motion. . |

Activity Day Meeting – 6 October 2021
A response was received from Mr Abed which reads as follows” “Sir Lowry’s Pass River (Main) requiring cleaning in and around Footbridge (Silt Removal) will start soon. Advice is sought regarding either waiting for Current project (1) to finish (in order to use same EPWP) or start with new EPWP. The current EPWP has requested to be retained for the next project in order to be eligible for UIF.

The Subcouncil to follow-up with Mr Abed on the progress made thus far.
That the item REMAINS on the MRA’s.

MATTERS RECEIVING ATTENTION FOR WARDS 15 AND 84
The Subcouncil Manager explained that Ward 15 and 84 was previously part of Subcouncil 24 and therefore all the matters receiving attention was carried over to Subcouncil 8. Cllr Peck and McFarlane, the ward councillors of ward 15 and 84 said that these matters could be dealt with directly with the line departments at a separate meeting that will be arranged by the Subcouncil office therefore it be proposed that the Matters Receiving for Wards 15 and 84 be closed.
RESOLVED
That all the matters receiving attention relating to Wards 15 and 84, BE CLOSED.
