 RECOMMENED
 

1. That it BE NOTED that IKAMVA LABANTU CHARITABLE TRUST which was approved by Council for food relief in ward 105, withdrew from the project due to them receiving DSD funding and not being able to accept another GIA.

 

2. That the amount of R 172 412 ( 2 x R 86 206) BE TRANSFERRED to Subcouncil 6 to assist MES  ( Mould Empower Serve) with food relief via the Greater Tygerberg Partnership.

 

3. That Nine Miles Project BE APPROACHED to accept R 172 412  to deliver food in wards 105 & 112 on the following basis:

 

3. The amount being split 70/30 between wards 105  and 112

• R 120 688 for ward 105
• R 51 723 for ward 112

 

4. That the ward councillors for wards 105 and 112 PROVIDE the Subcouncil Manager with lists of organisations that can be partnered with as a matter of urgency so that Nine Miles Project can enter into negotiations with them.

 
5       That should Nine Miles Project not be able to accept the projects indicated in wards 105 and 112, the funds be returned to the pool.
 
6       That the request from Subcouncil 2 for additional funding BE NOTED and the Subcouncil Manager be informed that no additional savings could be identified at this stage.
