Resolution detail
Cllr P Heynes requested the Subcouncil office to follow up on application submitted for traffic measures in Normal Street.
RESOLVED
|
The following assessments were undertaken by the Transport Network Development: Transport Directorate in terms of the City of Cape Town’s Traffic Calming Policy and the outcome thereof are as follows:
Cllr K Mare - Ward 14
Laurimer Street, Penhill “Given the above and considered the CCT’s Traffic Calming Policy, additional traffic calming cannot currently be considered along Laurimer Street.”
Cllr K Mare - Ward 14
Zevenhof Street, Kuilsriver “Given the above and considered the CCT’s Traffic Calming Policy, Zevenhof Street does not meet the criteria to qualify for a raised traffic calming measure.”
Cllr J Fitz - Ward 16
Dune Road, Eersteriver. “Given the above and considered the CCT’s Traffic Calming Policy, traffic calming cannot be considered along the length of Dune Road. However, we recommend the implementation of a sharp curve signage with road markings as shown in the layout. In addition, we also recommend that the road be repaired where the trench is located.”
Cllr S Oerson - Ward 17
London Way, Eersteriver. “Given the above and considered the CCT’s Traffic Calming Policy, we cannot justify the implementation of an all-way stop at the intersection of London Way/ Symmetry Crescent only based on one criteria such as the lack of available SDD. It is rather recommended that a speed hump be implemented along London Way, west of Symmetry Crescent, to reduce travelling speed to approximately 40 km/h and therefore provide sufficient shoulder sight distance according to the UTG.”
