Resolution detail

UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND that
 
 

a.)The application for the renewal of business license for Health and Entertainment: Electronic Devices, to permit a maximum of Five Limited Gambling Machines: (PTY) LTD 2014/034940/07, Die Afdak Sports Bar – Devices, Erf 10065, 213 – 215 Main Road, Strand, 5140 BE REFUSED for the following reasons:

• Increase of criminal activities in the surrounding area of the establishment should there be additional machines placed.
• The role of the ward councillor as public representative of the community as opposed to the administration of the City should be noted and that his concerns should be considered.
• The purpose for recommendation is not to have the close the business down but rather to take the concerns and challenges experienced in the said area into account.
• That the role of the Western Cape Gambling Board be acknowledged in this decision.

b.)That it BE NOTED that should the applicant appeal against the resolution of the Subcouncil submitted in point (a) above, the Ward Councillor should represent the Subcouncil in this regard.
