Subcouncil 24 supports the recommendation that:
It is RECOMMENDED that the motion submitted by Councillor Gregory Peck BE SUPPORTED and that Subcouncil 24 the Economic Opportunities and Asset Management Department to investigate the opportunity to sell by public tender erf 3929 approximately 3700m2, 56 Louis Botha Avenue, & erf 3212 approximately 8500m2, Castile Drive, Somerset West.
Both are open spaces that are currently not being utilised by the City of Cape Town. There a number of established open spaces that are developed as parks in the area (see attached map). Somerset West is an area where people wish to reside and these two properties could be developed as eleven or twelve residential erven. Attached are diagrams of the erven.

Activity Day Meeting- 6 October 2021
Bukelwa Ngqanekana of Recreation & Parks previously reported that they consulting with Property Management to give back the property as they have their own processes which Property Department follow and this includes comments from the other Line Departments. She also informed Cllr Peck that they have included erf 7588 as the 3rd property and whether he has any objections to it or if there is anything the Cllr wish to add. They will also do the subdivision on erf 3929.
Cllr Peck responded that he will liaise with Bukelwa after the meeting regarding the erf 7588 and to determine the way forward.
RESOLVED
That the item REMAINS on the MRA’s.

MATTERS RECEIVING ATTENTION FOR WARDS 15 AND 84
The Subcouncil Manager explained that Ward 15 and 84 was previously part of Subcouncil 24 and therefore all the matters receiving attention was carried over to Subcouncil 8. Cllr Peck and McFarlane, the ward councillors of ward 15 and 84 said that these matters could be dealt with directly with the line departments at a separate meeting that will be arranged by the Subcouncil office therefore it be proposed that the Matters Receiving for Wards 15 and 84 be closed.
RESOLVED
That all the matters receiving attention relating to Wards 15 and 84, BE CLOSED.
