Resolution detail

RESOLVED:

a) That the outcome of the Post Public Participation Report Proposed Bridge Over teh Railway Line within Subcouncil 23 from New Woodlands Ward 75 to Lentegeur Ward 76 be NOTED and it is recommended:

That the Subcouncil ackowledges the challenges created by the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown and severe financial contraints this has placed on the budget of the City and the resultant budget re-phasing and re-prioritization in part due to significant reductions and grant budget from National Government and therefore recommended that the possibility of the bridge be considered for the next financial year 2021/22 and that the report be submitted to SC at that time.

b) The information set out in Annexure A and B is a response to the request of the Subcouncil for public engagement.
c) The Subcouncil recommends the outcome of the public participation for the construction of a pedestrian bridge to span the Lentegeur
 Railway line b communicated to the Non-Motorized Transport Network Branch in the City of Cape Town in order that
b1) Discussions with PRASA to find an implementing funding model for the proposed pedestrian brigde construction can be commenced with by the Non-Motorized Transport Network Branch

d) That qurterly progress reporting in regard to b1 be submitted to Subcouncil 23
