SUBCOUNCIL 11 MURP PROJECT
 
The Subcouncil Manager informed the members that the Safety Volunteer programme, Phase 1 commenced beginning of December 2019 and ended first week February 2020 in Ward 40/44 and 47. Currently the programme is running in Ward 47 and progressing as anticipated. The Launch in both Ward 44 and 47 will be implemented during March 2020.
 
Women For Change
 
The project has been implemented in Wards 40,44 and 46 and is working well. All beneficiaries have received bibs, lanyards and stationery. Order has been place for t-shirts and stores is awaiting delivery
The programme officially started in ward 47 on 10 February 2020. All the women are awaiting revised contracts which will recognize start date and contract will end 30 June 2020. Purchase order has been generated for the total amount of funding allocated
 
Gatesville CBD
 
The Subcouncil Manager informed the members that the project has commenced 1st February 2020, 5 beneficiaries have been employed specially targeting the weekends when business activities are at peak.
 
Ald. Antonio van der Rheede informed the members that he received a thank you letter from the Hanover Park Taxi Association for the excellent work the Women for Change and Safety Workers executed for patrolling and keeping the Hanover Park Precinct safe during the Festive season. He said MURP frustration is that Line departments become antagonistic towards MURP projects and they must render support and take responsibility to continue the programs.
