MATTERS FOR INFORMATION

Basket of Services together with the team from Customer Relations Mobile services to scheduled interventions in ward 44 Silvertown, 46 from Manenberg / Rylands ward 47 from Hanover Park, Subcouncil to secure the venues and inform ward Councilors.

Beefing of Ward Committee vacant seats in the following wards scheduled dates:
Ward 40: 27/01/2020- 9 members currently.
Ward 44: 27/01/2020-8 members currently.
Ward 46: 28/01/2020-8 members currently.

During January 2020 Adjustment Budget meeting an amount of R150 000 has been recommended for approval for implementation of Drivers Licence programme in Ward 40. The Subcouncil is implementing the project and only have 5 months since December 2019 the Ward Councillor has been requested to submit names of beneficiaries in order to hit the road running once funding is approved by Council.

In Ward 40: 44 beneficiaries requested for the festive season safety volunteer programme and only 40 beneficiaries were submitted.

During January 2020 Adjustment Budget meeting an amount of R150 000 has been recommended for approval for implementation of Cadets Progamme in Ward 47. The Ward Councillor has been requested to submit the sizes of uniforms to be procured once funding is approved by Council, co-operation and speedy responses requested due to limited time available to implement the project.

In Ward 47 beneficiaries requested 44 beneficiaries for the festive season safety volunteer programme and only 23 beneficiaries were submitted.

The Subcouncil Manager informed the Councillors that Subcouncil has the lowest Ward Allocation expenditure to date amongst the 24 Subcouncils. She said Sport & Recreation has a challenge with a term tender and this has negative impact on expenditure of the Subcouncil. SDECD projects scheduled to start in February 2020 on the request of Councillors and Administrative logistics in progress.

Rehabilitation of concrete Roads Project in ward 47 meeting was held with Mr Henry Du Plessis on 12 December 2019 followed by emails 13 & 16 January 2020 on the outcome of the legal intervention and the position taken by the previous appointed contractor who left the site, to date no feedback has been received. The matter has been escalated to the office of the Executive Director as blockage, risk and challenge for the Subcouncil.
