The report is to Subcouncil of the City of Cape Town intention to obtain closure and in-principle approval from Council for the transfer by a public competitive process of City of Cape Town owned vacant erven 148802 AND 148803 (unregistered portions of remainder of erf32604), situated on the corner of Loerie Road & Blossom Street, Bridgetown

The Subcouncil members requested that the Director Property Management send list of land earmarked for disposal within the Subcouncil jurisdiction also list of properties that have been identified for disposal by public tender within Subcouncil 11 boundaries.

Cllr A Moses informed the members that vacant erven is situated opposite the Nantes field and the challenge is that it a high risk accident zone. The erven are part of the greenbelt within the ward which need to be protectected. Cllr A Moses said he supports development of the recreational facilities. The Line Department should take into consideration environmental issues and schedule a meeting with the Ward Councillor, Recreation & Parks and other line Departments before selling the land. Cllr A Moses said that he is not recommending that the erven be put on sale.

RESOLVED

The Subcouncil members recommended that the report of the City of Cape Town intention to obtain closure and in-principle approval from Council for the transfer by a public competitive process of City of Cape Town owned vacant erven 148802 AND 148803 (unregistered portions of remainder of erf 32604), situated on the corner of Loerie Road & Blossom Street, Bridgetown be deferred and not put on sale.
