RESOLVED
That it be NOTED that an application for a liquor licence received from JAZZMANS PLACE was considered in terms of sub delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:
SubCouncil 21 recommends that the application for a Consumption ON Premises Liquor Licence, reference no. LLA19060004, for the business Jazzmans Place NOT BE SUPPORTED for the following reasons:

The granting of approval of the application will not be in the interest of the public as the property is located on a busy street corner and traffic to the business and parking will encroach the rights and property of neighbours.

The surrounding community comprises families with children and youth under the age of 18 years that have no other access to play areas other than the road.

It could not be determined whether the property would be suitable for purposes of the licence due to it being locked.

It was reported that the applicant is currently in prison regarding a pending case nr 551/08/2019.
