Cllr Mare raised concerns and dissatisfaction regarding the Langverwacht Road Upgrade on page 98. Alluded to the fact the upgrade is a major issue with regards to the time it is taking, poor workmanship and questioned whether the project would finish in time. Requested a public meeting to render feedback to the community hall with regards to the upgrade.
Cllr Mare requested clarity regarding the contractor status and ability to complete project.
Cllr Mare requested information and clarity on Buttskop Level Crossing and action plan. He also seek clarity on the sidewalks being implemented, seems to be skew and crooked, as well as the road width, seems to be narrower.
D De Villiers responded that a report regarding the Langverwacht Road upgrade report will be tabled in October Subcouncil meeting. He informed the meeting that additional teams will be added to reduce the backlog of progression.
Cllr Fitz requested clarity on the equipment issued, the equipment to be provided and a way forward to be decided. Similarly, Cllr Mare raised his concerns. It was agreed that the radios be brought to the meeting arranged by Subcouncil.
J Meyer responded regarding Buttskop and reported progress has been made, a date has been set for the public engagement. He mentioned that three departments are included in operations that is the traffic department, law enforcement and roads and transport planning infrastructure. J Meyer furnished the ward councillors with the project plans.
Cllr Mare further alluded to the electricity pole that is still there and camera operation, feedback required.
RESOLVED
That the contents of the report regarding the Progressive Capital Expenditure: August 2019 BE NOTED and comments be actioned.
That Subcouncil arrange a meeting with the line department & officials regarding the Langerverwacht Road Upgrade.
An urgent meeting and site visits with all relevant departments to Buttskop level Crossing to be arranged with the project management team.
That Subcouncil arrange a meeting with the line department & officials regarding the outstanding licensing and issuing of radios to NHW for ward allocation of 2017 / 18 & 2018 & 19.
