Resolution detail

RESOLVED

  1. That it BE NOTED that the following requests for traffic calming measures for Ward 11 were received to be re-assessed:

Ward 11
Raised stop street intersection – Highbury Road and Allaman Street
Raised stop street intersection – Highbury Road and Lesperance Street
Raised speed hump – Lesperance Street (at the Shell garage)
Yellow keep clear crossing – Church Street and Neethlingshof Street
Speed hump – Duma Street
Speed hump – Kruger Street
Speed humps – Elim Street

  1. The following request for traffic calming measures for Ward 108 was received to be assessed:

Ward 108
Nooiensfontein Road, VGK Church, Highgate

  1. That it BE NOTED that the following assessment was undertaken by the Network Development: TDA Cape Town in terms of the City of Cape Town’s Traffic Calming Policy and the outcome (attached as Annexure 1 to the report) thereof is as follows:

Ward 11

Pepperboom Street, Kuilsriver

The road was assessed in favour of the residents, with the highest possible score being awarded for speeding. Given the above and having considered the CoCT’s Traffic Calming Policy, we regretfully cannot recommend additional speed humps in favour of traffic calming measures along Pepperboom Street.
