Resolution detail

RESOLVED to RECOMMEND that,
 

1. The Sunrise Beach parking area BE REFUSED as a proposed site for the discharge of fireworks,
2. the Council consider banning the sale and usage of fireworks across the entire Metro except at events where a certified licensed company could control the discharge of fireworks in a controlled environment for the following reasons:

1. The City of Cape Town does not have the capacity to manage the sale of fireworks nor the man power to enforce the bylaw,
2. The unsupervised use of fireworks can cause harm to the environment, people and animals.
