Resolution detail
The Subcouncil Manager informed the members that the following matters arising were actioned by the Subcouncil as follows;
• Meeting was held on the 21/02/2019 with C Stegmann, Cllr Cassiem, S Gallant to discuss Duinefontein Park, repair and insuring of floodlights and maintenance issues in ward 46. The meeting included clarification of the ward allocation projects implemented in the ward.
• Expiry of City Parks tender for fencing, meeting was held with G Slabert, Director WSE Solomons Johannes, Subcouncil Manager and District officials to discuss the matter.
• Ward Councilor’s proposed amendments to number of seats for sectors and Subcouncil Supported the reallocation of seats. Ward 44 has 2 vacant seats one organization has registered and submitted documents. The filing of vacant seat is scheduled 5 April 2019 at Dulcie September office at 9am.The second organization still need to submit outstanding documents.
• Ward 46 has 3 vacant seats after Ward Committee member from Safety and Security organization resigned. Cllr Cassiem proposed reallocation of Civic organisation seat to Education Sector and beef up the other sectors. Cllr Antonio van der Rheede advised Cllr A Cassiem to be specific when proposing Education sector whether reference is made to general schools or ECD sector.
• Cllr Antonio van der Rheede encouraged ward committee members to be active in their sectors and assist Councilors to improve the lives of Citizens. He said non- attendance of workshops and ward meetings result to wasteful expenditure and requested that Ward Committee member’s Code of Conduct be applied firmly.
• Ward 40 Committee meeting was rescheduled from 5/3/2019 to 13/3 2019 because the meeting did not quorate. However, the meeting of 13/03/2019 quorated and business was conducted.
• Ward 44 Committee meeting held on the 6/3/2019 quorated.
• Cllr Antonio van der Rheede informed Ms Salie that he has not received items purchased on the itemised breakdown list of 2017/2018 ward allocation funding made available to the Department.
• He encouraged Councillors to request from line officials the spreadsheet and breakdown of itemised items purchased with ward allocation and confirm receipt of equipment.
