Resolution detail

• The members of the Subcouncil requested that both National and Provincial governments be informed about the recruitment and selection process they follow that it should be aligned with COCT policy prescripts in terms of recruiting unemployed community beneficiaries for projects being implemented within the jurisdiction of the Subcouncil. The challenge which was raised is that when COCT projects are implemented they follow the strict database randomization process via Subcouncils and when National and Provincial governments implement projects follow an ad hoc; • Process of recruiting community beneficiaries. EPWP office requested to take up the matter and report to the Subcouncil the outcome of engagement. • The members of the Subcouncil were interested to meet EPWP workers who became entrepreneurs under the Kader Asmal Foundation and further requested a presentation to be done on the SC activity day, 18 September 2018 at 13h30. • Cllr Truter asked why the same people are employed all the time and she notice that family members are working in multiple projects and this is unacceptable. • Cllr Nqavashe informed the members of the 3 year programmer for beneficiaries with grade 12 certificates to become peace officers. They attend college education and receive driver’s license as a skill which make them employable. The Subcouncil members NOTED the information. S Sekgonyana; K Nombakuse
