The Subcouncil Manager informed the members that the report is submitted to Subcouncil to comment on the application for liquor licenses in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008 as amended. She informed the members that comments have been obtained from the Ward Councillor, PR Councillor, Line department Officials, Designated Liquor Officers, SAPS and the Community. Subcouncil to exercise the powers conferred on the City in terms of Section 6(3) of the By-law: Control of undertaking that sell Liquor to public, 2013 The Subcouncil Manager informed the members that 2 people supported the application which the majority of comments received did not support the application. Both the Ward councillor and the proportional representation Councillor in the ward are not supporting the application. The Subcouncil members recommended that the application LLA1805023 for liquor licences in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008 NOT SUPPORTED based on the following reasons; I. There are public facilities in close proximity e.g. Playpark, Sinethemba National Baptist church and Siyazingisa primary school close to the venue and the community is complaining about the behaviour of clientele of this business. II. Inadequate Street parking impacting on the free flow of traffic. III. The application does not serve public interest.
