See item 16 SUB 29/05/18 of the agenda. 20/04/18: Deferred to allow further investigation in utilising the property for social housing. Report awaited. 19/03/18: Ms Amy Meyer represented the Property Department. Concerns raised: •Other land similar this is being used for affordable housing. •Social housing is to be closer to the CBD. •Transport Department is not doing its best to utilize the property. •An overlay assessment should be conducted. •Is the applicant in debt to the City? •A workshop to be held with all relevant stakeholders. After discussion, Subcouncil 16 agreed as follows: UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that the lease of City Land, being Erf 5744, portion of Erven 5745, 5746, 5747 – 5760 and 5766 – 5773 Cape Town situated between Canterbury and Primrose Streets, Cape Town for parking purposes: Protea Helpende Hand Wes Kaap BE DEFERRED to allow further investigation in utilizing the property for social housing.
