On 16/08/17 this matter was deferred until the next meeting to obtain SAPS’s comment on this application. The comment was obtained is attached to the report.
The proposed approval of the application was put to vote by show of hands and votes were recorded as follows:

RESOLVED that:
a)The application for the extension of trading hours from 02:00-04:00 submitted by Stones Observatory, 84 Lower Main Road, Observatory BE APPROVED as it complies with the criteria included in the City of Cape Town: Control of Undertakings that Sell Liquor to the Public By-Law, 2013.
b)Should complaints be received concerning noise and/or unruly behaviour of patrons, these will be investigated and may result in the extended trading hours being withdrawn
c)Any complaints received concerning noise and/or unruly behaviour of patrons will also be referred to the Western Cape Liquor Authority and may jeopardise the renewal of the liquor licence
d) This approval is also subject to compliance with all relevant by- laws of the City of Cape Town.
