UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that the following comments be noted:
That an application for a liquor licence received from Chez Ntemba International Club was considered in terms of sub delegated authority and that the following recommendation was forwarded to the Liquor Authority in terms of the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008, as amended:
Subcouncil 16 recommends that the application for a Consumption ON Premises Liquor Licence, reference no LLA1707012, for the business Chez Ntemba International Club be NOT SUPPORTED.
Subcouncil strongly objects to the application for the following reasons:
1.The applicant has proven to be an irresponsible trader, and has been operating illegally without the required business licence (health & entertainment) for an extended period. A notice in this regard was served on the application on 14 October 2016 already.
2.Numerous noise complaints regarding excessive noise emanating from this establishment were submitted by surrounding residents.
