Mr Petrus Robberts was present for this item. He delivered a visual presentation on the EPIC (Emergency Police Incident Control) system. The following topics of the EPIC system were expanded on: •6 Pillars of the EPIC system •Incident management cycle •Harmonized Reports for EPIC solution •Types of EPIC Reports •WFM Reports Overview •Status and Self Start graphs Mr Robberts explained how the system could be used to monitor service requests, manage staff and draw reports for statistical purposes. He emphasized the importance of the public and officials reporting incidents via the 107 number. He said that the number was free when calling from a land line. When calling from a cell phone, one should dial 021 480 7700, but there was a cost involved. The EPIC Programme mainly utilised the following services: Law Enforcement, Traffic Services, Disaster Risk Management, and Metro Police Services (Safety and Security services). He informed the Chairperson, Councillors and the public that should they encounter any problem, they could email him at or call him on 079 522 1701.
