Resolution detail

Meeting date: 21 September 2017 Cllr Peck reported that the amendment has been written and has seen it in the Utilities sub-committee and will come before Council next month. RESOLVED That the item be REMOVED from the Matters Receiving Attention. Meeting date: 17 August 2017 RESOLVED It is recommended that the motion submitted by Cllr G Peck be supported and that the Sub-councils have officials investigate and bring an amended by-law to Council based on the following: Many of the gated estates purchase their water in bulk from the City. Most of the residents in these gated villages have reduced their consumption in line with level 4B. The City and water inspectors do not have any control or power to ensure that all are adhering to the water restrictions and has requested the City water inspectors to investigate a gated village in Ward 15. The monthly average consumption is well within limits but it is known that about 10% (50 homes) are still using more than 30kl per month. The inspectors advised him that as the estate has only one account for bulk supply and within limitations consumption so they are not allowed to investigate individuals within the estate. The By-law must be amended so that the water inspectors can investigate and take action so that all residents within the Metro comply. MOVER: Cllr G Peck and was SECONDED by Cllr V Isaacs FOR ACTION: CHRYSTAL FRANTZ
