Ms Pauline McConney represented the City Parks department. Cllr Dave Bryant enquired as to how City Parks department is dealing with the water restrictions. The Chairperson, Cllr Kempthorne, asked about the use of effluent water. Cllr Roberto Quintas enquired regarding using water from the Disa River. Ms McConney stated in response: • The department received an instruction stating there is no exemption from the water restrictions. • Using water from tanks to water trees. • Intention to use the EPWP program to employ workers to water with buckets. • Currently working on getting the lower portion of Company Gardens on the mountain water irrigation system. • CBD is not on the effluent water system. • An application was submitted for using water from rivers, and the department is still waiting for the reply. Cllr Roberto Quintas, supported by Cllr Shayne Ramsay, commended the City Parks department for doing excellent work in spite of the water restrictions. UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that the report be noted.
