Resolution details

UNANIMOUSLY RESOLVED that:
a. The consent use to permit a freestanding base telecommunication station and associated infrastructure, as set out in Annexure A, on erf 1671 at 1086 Otto Du Plessis Drive, Melkboschstrand, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the Municipal Planning By-Law (2015), subject to the conditions contained in Annexure A.

b. The regulation departure as set out in Annexure A on erf 1671 at 1086 Otto Du Plessis Drive, Melkboschstrand, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the Municipal Planning By-Law (2015), subject to the conditions contained in Annexure A.


c. City approval to permit development within the Koeberg Restriction Area Overlay Zoning on erf 1671 at 1086 Otto Du Plessis Drive, Melkboschstrand, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the Municipal Planning By-Law, 2015, subject to the conditions contained in Annexure A.

REASONS FOR DECISION
The MPT REFUSED the application for the following reasons:

1. The adverse visual impact on a prominent road (Otto Du Plessis) is too severe
2. More suitable locations on the school site, which have less visual impact, should be explored.
