RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY that:
The application for consent to permit a freestanding base telecommunication station for Erf 178621 Cape Town, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.
REASONS FOR DECISION:
The MPT REFUSED the application for the reasons set out in the Planner’s report, except reason 7.1.3 which is amended as follows:
7.1.3 Although the proposal would be of benefit from an economic development point of view, the proposed mast is generally inconsistent with the City’s Telecommunication Mast Infrastructure Policy insofar as location, visual integrity and design, within the existing residential context is concerned.
