RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY

That the application for Consent in terms of Item 46(b) of the Development Management Scheme to permit a freestanding base telecommunication station on Erf 116156 Cape Town, BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98(c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.

REASONS FOR DECISION:

The MPT REFUSED the application for the reasons set out in the Planner’s report, except reason 7.1.2 which is amended as follows and deleted reason 7.1.3

7.1.2 The proposed 25m high freestanding base telecommunication station, which will be located in a low-density, low-rise and generally flat suburban area, will become a highly visible and prominent structure and visual and design aspects have not been adequately addressed.
