RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY:
a. That the application for rezoning of Erf 7509, Parow from Single Residential (SR1) to General Residential (GR4) to allow the construction of 9 residential flat units BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98 (c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.
b. That the application for departure from parking requirements to 0 in lieu of 18 on-site parking bays BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98 (c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.
c. That the application for permanent departures for relaxation of the street and common boundary building lines to accommodate the proposed flat units on the premises BE REFUSED in terms of Section 98 (c) of the Municipal Planning By-law, 2015.
REASONS FOR DECISION:
The MPT REFUSED the application for the reasons set out below
1. The proposed development would result in an over bulk building that is not in keeping with the surrounding neighborhood.
2. Lack of any on-site parking will result to cars parking in the street that will lead to traffic congestion along the 1st Avenue.
